The Perfect Smile is Possible

What Are Dental Implants?

In the field of dentistry, dental implants are the ultimate solution for missing teeth. These ingenious devices, primarily made of titanium, act as artificial roots that naturally integrate into the jawbone. Their main function is to provide a solid and secure foundation for future teeth.

At Clínica Dental Arpón y Quijada in Seville, we are proud to be pioneers in dental implants, with over 30 years of experience dedicated to perfecting every detail of this procedure.

The Dental Implant Placement Process

Before placing an implant, our dentists will carefully evaluate your needs. The procedure may require local anesthesia or sedation for your comfort. In general, it consists of three phases:

Placement of the Implant

Titanium implant is placed at the bone level where the tooth is missing, and in most cases, a healing abutment is placed over the implant immediately to prevent tissue coverage. This eliminates the need to reopen the gums after three months when taking measurements for the final crown.

In cases of anterior tooth replacement, an immediate provisional fixed abutment can be placed the same day of the implant placement. This allows the patient to leave with a provisional tooth made of temporary material on the same day as the surgery.

A follow-up visit at one and a half months to take a small X-ray and ensure that the implant is healing properly in the bone.

A visit three months after surgery for scanning the implant and the creation of the final prosthesis made from high-quality, durable ceramic material.
